On Friday, the 8th of January, Brandon Roach became the first boys basketball player in Frederick Law Olmsted history to reach the 1000 point milestone. Brandon began his varsity career participating in nine games as a freshman, averaging 7.77 points a game. When entering his sophomore season, he became the leader of the Owls, He averaged a team high 16.85 points in his 20 games. He erupted for a 50 point output on February 7th of 2013 to beat Preforming Arts. The sensational start to his career placed him on the First team All Yale Cup. As a Junior, Brandon was just shy of scoring 20 points a game with 19.35 and was the first player to record a triple double in a game. His accomplishments again would grant him a spot on the First team All Yale Cup team. His three point jumper from the corner during the 3rd quarter Friday against Emerson was the basket that proved hard work and dedication will get recognized. Brandon finished the win with 29 points, 18 of which came in the first half. Only nine games into his senior season, Brandon has a total of 1009 points and has lead his team to its best start at 7-2 overall and 3-1 in Yale Cup. He has helped Olmsted to a 35-34 record in his four seasons. In addition to his great basketball accomplishments, Brandon is also a member of the National Honors Society in which he was inducted as a Junior.
